Sarah Elgart is a dancer and choreographer who has directed numerous site specific performances and dance films with her company, Arrogant Elbow. She has brought her unique interdisciplinary approach to communities in need, particularly female inmates, children in hospitals, and at risk youth.

MADRE (Mothers and Daughters Reaching Empowered States) was a project Elgart conducted in collaboration with homeless women to seek empowerment through performance.

Ballet After Dark is a fitness and ballet studio that teaches principles of ballet and self care through workshops to support and heal the community of sexual assault survivors.

ABOUT

Ballet After Dark provides a workshop tour throughout the United States. The studio also offers group classes.

Movemeant is a body-positive organization for young women to explore confidence and self love through fitness and movement, striving to put health in the forefront of social change.

ABOUT

Movemeant’s curriculum aims to work with middle school girls at public schools, incorporating sport, dance, and discussion to educate and nurture body-positivity. The foundation also hosts numerous ‘We Dare to Bare’ events for women of all ages in cities across the United States.
