MISSION

Sarah Elgart is a dancer and choreographer who has directed numerous site specific performances and dance films with her company, Arrogant Elbow. She has brought her unique interdisciplinary approach to communities in need, particularly female inmates, children in hospitals, and at risk youth.

MADRE (Mothers and Daughters Reaching Empowered States) was a project Elgart conducted in collaboration with homeless women to seek empowerment through performance.

Design Dance

MISSION

Design Dance wants every child to have access to a dance education regardless of personal or financial ability. Social emotional learning is incorporated into dance curriculum to expand students’ awareness and connection to themselves and their peers.

ABOUT

Design Dance offers after-school programs, in-school residencies, plus community partnerships which provide affordable dance classes to children.

Dance Exchange

MISSION

Dance Exchange shares with people the joy and power of dance by using the creative process as a means of personal expression, understanding, and empowerment.

ABOUT

Youth programs include dance training, collaboration, and performance for 8-18 year old participants in both indoor and outdoor settings. Organizing Artists for Change is an initiative by Dance Exchange to further extend creative learning and research opportunities to artists and the community.
