The Free Body Film
*A short, experimental film by Free Body Project to raise awareness of human trafficking set in Portland, Oregon which began an international movement using dance as a powerful resource for social justice work.*
Learn more about our work and our upcoming dance documentary “From There to Here” set in Kolkata, India and featuring the women whose voices you hear in “Move for Freedom”.
This film is our call to action. It explores the internal and external changes that can occur when we open our eyes to pressing social problems and choose action, using passions and skills at our disposal. Set to an original composition by Elspeth Duncan, the score features original poetry and voices of dance activists at the Kolkata-based NGO, Kolkata Sanved.
We are indebted to the dancers, 25 crew members, 118 Kickstarter backers, and local Portland, Oregon businesses that supported the creation of our first film.
